About Beats for the Future

Program Vision
To create a future where Indigenous youth are no longer silenced, forgotten, or
misrepresented — but are heard, seen, and celebrated through their stories, their art, and
their beats.

Mission
"Beats for the Future" uses music production, songwriting, storytelling, and performance
to support Indigenous youth in:
• Reclaiming their voice and identity
• Building confidence and creative skill sets
• Healing from trauma through cultural expression
• Connecting intergenerational teachings with modern sound
• Creating community pride through original music

Objectives
1. Launch creative music workshops for Indigenous youth aged 12–25 in partnership
with local schools, youth centers, and community programs.
2. Create mobile recording sessions to reach urban and rural Indigenous
communities, including reserves and settlements.
3. Teach beat-making, lyric writing, and vocal performance using culturally relevant
materials, Indigenous mentors, and trauma-informed practices.
4. Develop a music release platform where youth can release their own tracks,
videos, or collaborative albums with full creative control.
5. Host live showcases and community events that celebrate Indigenous youth
talent, resilience, and identity.
